DORAI Story

KVM Dr. Sumithra Prasad

Founder – General Secretary, DORAI Foundation

In a large crowd, one can easily locate KVM.Dr Sumithra Prasad as this vibrant, energetic woman. She carries herself in style, a style peculiar to her. Her bindi is always the same. It is a serpent that covers most of her forehead, coils down, and ends in a trishul (trident), just like Shiva. “It signifies that control is within; whatever you seek is there within.” She wears a golden nath (nose pin), holding on to her Maharashtrian roots, as she grew up in Nahur, Mumbai.
The 57-year-old is a counselor, a mother, a mentor, a rehabilitation professional, life coach, TEDX speaker, and also the founder of DORAI Foundation.
DORAI. Behind the woman whose living room walls are adorned with multiple plaques with no blank space, more plaques await to be hung- the garage walls, holding more such plaques, are turned into her “Hall of Fame”.
The woman who uses a lot of hand gestures while talking, readjusts herself every two minutes, and also claims, “I am the poster child of ADHD”!
